  MICHAEL KUKUVKA MATTHEWS
  
    Michael Kukuvka Matthews, 79, of Somerset passed away July 19, 2000
  at the V.A. Center in Aspinwall.  Born Dec. 23, 1921 in Trebisov,
  Czechoslovakia.  Son of the late Joseph and Alzbeta (Maucosova)
  Kukuvka.  Survived by wife, the former Helen Boyers.  His passing
  ends a marriage union of 55 years.  Also these children: Josephine
  Matthews, married to Yuan Tien, of Baltimore, Md.; Michael Jr. of
  Greenville; John, married to Alexis Judy of Macon, Ga.; Mark, of
  Sipesville; Blase of New Brighton, Ohio; and Teresa, married to Devin
  Miller of LaVale, Md.  Grandchildren, Virginia, Jennifer, Kristopher,
  Laurel, Bethany, Timothy, Katrina, Alexander and Angela, and
  great-grandson Brandon.  Also family member Patty Matthews and
  brothers Paul, John and Clement Kukuvka.  Retired insurance agent for
  Baltimore Life.  Veteran of the U.S. Army in WW II.  Participated in
  the CCC Group that built Laurel Hill State Park.  Member of the
  V.F.W. Post 554 and the American Legion Post 181 in Somerset.  Member
  of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Somerset.  Friends will be
  received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset.  A
  funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Church. 
  Msgr. Samuel Tomaselli Celebrant.  Interment Somerset County Memorial
  Park with full Military Honors.
