  HERBERT M. MATTHIAS
  
    Herbert M. Matthias, 83, Meyersdale, died June 13, 1978, at
  Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 29, 1895, in North Hampton
  Township, he was a son of the late John and Emma (Knepp) Matthias.
    He is survived by his widow, former Grace Landis, and these
  children: Glenn, Baltimore, Md.; James, Cleveland, Ohio; Carl,
  Connellsville; and Betty, wife of James Lohr, Ambridge; also seven
  grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    He was a member of Grace Brethren Church.
    Friends were received at Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where
  services were held with the Rev. Ray Davis officiating.  Interment,
  Union Cemetery.
