  JOHN J. MATTIE SR.
  
  John J. Mattie Sr., 84, Gray, died March 27, 1985, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born June 30, 1900, in Austria, a son of the
  late Mr. and Mrs. John Mattie.  Preceded in death by two brothers. 
  Survived by his wife, Helen (Ambro) Mattie; a daughter, Elizabeth,
  wife of George Zimmerman, Wilmington, Del.; and John Jr., Gray; also
  four grandchildren.  A brother of: Mary Matse, Windber; Helen Rizak,
  Indian Head, Md.; and Joe, Listie.  He was a member of St. John's
  Roman Catholic Church, Acosta; member of UMW of A; retired coal
  miner; and member of United Slovak Union.  His death terminated a
  marriage union of 54 years.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Thursday and Friday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where
  rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Friday.  Mass of Christian Burial 10
  a.m. Saturday in St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Acosta, with the
  Rev. Benjamin Dykas officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.
