    Howard E. "Howdy" Maurer Jr., 67, of 5A Nipmuc Trail, North
  Providence, R.I., 02904, formerly of Boswell, died March 4, 1999, at
  Miriam Hospital, Providence.  Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Johnstown.  A
  son of the late Howard E. "Chick" Sr. and Eleanor Ann (Roberts)
  Maurer.  Survived by wife, the former Mary Ellen Bednarek, and these
  sisters and brothers: Edward R., married to Betty Ann Yost, Stoystown
  RD; Constance L., wife of John K. Lohr, Middletown; Neil A., married
  to Penny Weimer, Pineville, La., and Craig.  Also survived by
  numerous nieces and nephews.  Graduate of the former Boswell High
  School, Class of 1950.  U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and
  life time member of the Boswell Area Historical Society.  Member of
  the National Association of Credit Managers.  Corporate credit
  manager for Textron Inc. for many years.  Arrangements, in the charge
  of the Hoffman Funeral Homes, Boswell, are incomplete pending arrival
  of cremains.
