    Robert L. Maurer, 59, of 600 Mississippi St., Boswell, DOA Feb. 16,
  1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born Dec. 6, 1937, in
  Sipesville, son of Guy M. Sr. and Katie V. (Bell) Maurer.  Preceded
  in death by parents; sister, Sarah Rinebolt; brothers, David and
  Roy.  Survived by wife, the former Carol J. Zarefoss, and two sons:
  Paul E., married to Lisa Shaffer, Boswell RD 3, and Ronald, married
  to Lori Dugan, Boswell.  Brother of Albert, Listie; Dorothy Moore,
  Oregon; Carl, Hooversville; William Daniel, Sipesville; Guy Jr.,
  Chicago; Charles K., New Jersey; Donald, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mary
  Heist, Idaho.  Member of Zion Hoffman Evangelical Lutheran Church,
  Friedens RD 1; Boswell Fire Police, where he served as a first
  lieutenant and was a commissioner for the Somerset and Cambria County
  Fire Police Association; Boswell Volunteer Fire Department.  Former
  Boswell Borough Council member for 12 years.  Veteran of the U.S.
  Army.  Observed 37th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 1996.  Had worked
  for the former Jonel Construction Co.  Was coal truck driver for
  former Moran Trucking Co. and currently was chief corrections officer
  at Somerset County Jail.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main
  Street, Boswell.  Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at
  11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Hoffman Church, Rev. Michael H. Tamorria. 
  Memorial service by Boswell Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset
  and Cambria County Fire Police Association at 7 p.m. Tuesday. 
  Interment, Beam Cemetery, near Gray.  Memorials to Boswell Fire
  Police, 406 Center Street, Boswell, Pa. 15531 would be appreciated.
