  MAURER
  
  Ruby V. Maurer, 96, of Connellsville, passed away Oct. 7, 2003, at
  home while being comforted by her family.  She was born Feb. 7, 1907,
  in Braxton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lovell and Allie (Ball)
  Smarr.  Preceded in death by her husband, Guy Maurer; a daughter,
  Allie Mae Bailey; and son, Clark Ross.  Survived by a son, Basil Ross
  of Vine Grove, Ky.; two daughters, Herdine Douglas of Lucasville, Ohio
  and Lucy Jane Lykins of Jeffersonville, Ky.; several grandchildren;
  great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was a
  Protestant by faith and a member of the Church of God in Acosta. 
  There will be no viewing or visitation.  A graveside service for Ruby
  V. Maurer will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Beam's Church
  Cemetery in Jenner Township, with Rev. Edward Bailey officiating. 
  Arrangements are under the direction of the Vito C. Martucci Funeral
  Home, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville.
