Maust, 91, of Meyersdale RD 1, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1988, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Meyersdale July 1, 1896, he was the son of the late Joel J. and Matilda (Beachy) Maust. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma J. (Miller) Maust. He was a member of Maple Glen Mennonite Church, Grantsville, Md., he was a farmer and worked as a meat cutter for Yoder's Meatpackers, Grantsville, Md. for 25 years. Surviving are two sons, Paul A. Maust, Grantsville, Md., and Jonas Maust, Homerville, Ohio; five daughters, Mrs. Barbara Barnhart, Dover, Del.; Miss Mabel Maust, Gays Creek, Ky.; Mrs. Catharine Summers[*], Uprings [**]; Mrs. Miriam Kemp, Pital, Costa Rica; and Miss Martha Maust, Meyersdale; one foster son, Joseph Dolan, Accident, Md.; one brother, Enos J. Maust, Meyersdale; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, four foster grandchildren and 14 foster great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services were conducted in Maple Glen Mennonite Church Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ivan Maust and the Rev. Jesse J. Yoder.
