Maust died at the home of his son, Howard Maust, near St. Paul, Elk Lick Township, last Saturday, of dropsy. He was born March 11, 1847, and was aged 83 years and 15 days. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Howard, in whose home he spent his last days, and Perry Maust, of Delair, N.J., three daughters, Mrs. Norman Shumaker and Mrs. Eli D. Shumaker, both of Springs, Pa., and Mrs. Ray Shumaker, of Lambert, Pa., and 19 grandchildren. Mr. Maust married Miss Alice Lindeman of Summit Mills, Feb. 17, 1874. He was a carpenter by trade and an upright industrious citizen. The funeral services were held in the Mennonite Church at Springs, on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. G. J. Miller and Milton B. Miller were the officiating ministers. Interment in the Springs cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 3, 1930
