Born May 12, 1930, in Grantsville, Md., she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Yoder) Bender. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Fickes and one grandson, Brian Maust. Survivors include her husband, Willard Leroy Maust; nine sons, James W. (Joyce Beachy) Maust, Harrisonburg, Va.; Arlen W. (Glenda Brenneman) Maust, Grantsville, Md.; Veril W. Maust, Salisbury; Duane W. (Chris Diller) Maust, Beckley, W.Va.; Merlin W. (Felicia Merrbach) Maust, Meyersdale; Jesse W. (Karen Broadwater) Maust, Springs; Leonard W. (Diane Bender) Maust, Springs; Glenn W. (Rhonda Opel) Maust, Springs; Darwin W. Maust, Morgantown, W.Va.; one son-in-law, Billy Fickes, Grantsville; three daughters, Sherrill A. (Daniel) Meyers, Grantsville; Doreen (Rich) Bender, Accident, Md.; Darlene (Dale) Mast, Grantsville, Md.; one brother, Martin L. Bender, New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Lela Maust, Grantsville and 32 grandchildren. Mrs. Maust was a member of Cherry Glade Mennonite Church and also the Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary. She volunteered in the crafts dept. at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md. for 25 years and Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home for 18 years. She also was a volunteer at the Springs Folk Festival and sold bread at the Springs Farmer's Market. Friends will be received 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9186 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury. Service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Springs Mennonite Church with Rev. Danny Tice, Rev. Oren Bender and Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment will be in Oak Dale Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Brent Maust, Scott Maust, Matthew Maust, Andrew Maust, Christopher Fickes, Jeremy Blosser, Darrin Maust and Eric Maust.
