Maust, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Maust, died at his home three and one-half miles north of Nappanee, Ind., at 10:45 a.m., last Thursday. He was 71. Death came as a result of a complication of ailments, which had kept Mr. Maust bedfast for a week. He was born Jan. 11, 1861, at Meyersdale. He went to Nappanee at the age of 21, and had lived there practically all the time since. His first wife, Catherine Mishler Maust, died Dec. 21, 1912. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Douglas and Edward Maust of Goshen, Ind., and Fred Maust, of Nappanee, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Clipp of Elkhart, Ind., and Mrs. John Newcomer of Goshen, Ind.; two brothers, Bernard and Nelson Maust, of Nappanee, and two sisters, Mrs. John Weber of Dunlap, Ind., and Mrs. Chris Bender, of Nappanee. Three step-children, Levi Dennison of Harvard, Ill., Mrs. Milton Stump of Elkhart, Ind., and George Dennison, at home, also survive, in addition to 24 grandchildren. The body laid in state at the home until the hour of the funeral, which was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, from the North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee, with the Rev. Homer North officiating, assisted by D. D. Trovey. Burial was made in the South Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, June 30, 1932
