MAUST Garrett County, Maryland Isaac W. Maust, aged 60, well known farmer in this section, died at his home near here, early Thursday morning, March 14. Although he had suffered from chronic myocarditis, a heart ailment, for many years, his condition had not been considered critical until about two months ago. Mr. Maust was born in Preston County, W.Va., June 28, 1880. He was a son of Jacob H. and Irene Sisler Maust, natives of West Virginia. He later moved into this community and had spent practically all of his life here. For many years Mr. Maust successfully operated a farm about five miles west of here, just over the Somerset County line. He was also connected with the Springs Mutual Telephone Company for a time but disposed of this interest several years ago. He had a wide acquaintance throughout this section and was highly esteemed. On October 31, 1904, he married Miss Cora Folk, of this community. She and their five children survive. They are Vernon Maust, Springs, Walter Maust, Fort Hill, Mrs. Claude Folk, Grantsville, Carl and Mary Maust, at home. He also leaves one brother, Walter Maust, four sisters, Sadie, Anne, Ida and Mabel Maust, all of Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren. He had been a member of the Maple Glenn Church of the Brethren since early childhood. Funeral services were held Saturday morning. Meyersdale Republican, March 21, 1940
