Born Jan. 31, 1917, in Brothersvalley Township, the son of James B. and Altha C. (Beachley) Maust. Preceded in death by parents and sister Phyllis Galehouse. Survived by wife the former Helen G. Weimer to whom he was married 66 years, son James F. Maust, married to the former Jane S. Gindlesperger, Somerset; grandchildren Melissia Ann Maust, Friedens; Jennifer S. Harrity, Jerome, Jessica N. Maust, Johnstown; one great-grandson Shane Kimmel Maust. Member of First Christian Church, World War II veteran of U.S. Army Military Police, VFW Post 554, Packer in the Shipping Department of Crane Co., retiring in 1979 with 17 years of service. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Pastor Daniel F. Nicksich and Pastor John Barchey officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be given to the First Christian Church, 139 E.
