Maust died at his home in Elk Lick Township, Meyersdale R.D. 3, at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 21. He was born June 8, 1855, a son of Samuel and Christina (Ringler) Maust, and at the time of his death was eighty-five years of age. Surviving are his wife, Nora May Maust, and these children: Vilis, of Meyersdale R.D. 3; Harold W., of Meyersdale R.D. 1; Warren O., Gordon B., Elmer A., Theodore R., Cecil L., Melvin L., and Grover E., all at home; Mrs. Geneva Newman, of Jefferson, Md.; Mrs. Oscar Smith, of Central City; and Mrs. Avis Clem, of Knoxville, Md. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, in the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, by the pastor, Rev. A. J. Forry. Interment was made in the St. Paul cemetery, in charge of W. C. Price and Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, July 25, 1940
