Myra's heart's number one desire is that her family and friends know and walk with the Lord. She would especially seek out the lonely or lost, ministering to them through music, visits, letters, cards and prayers. Another heart's desire was to seek out the poor and contribute to their needs. She spent many hours sewing and making quilts to provide to relief agencies, providing for children and missionaries in Romania just to name one. Myra also enjoys flowers, music, traveling, reading, writing, history, and visiting with family and friends. She fondly recalls the years she and Omar worked with Mennonite Disaster Service and the 22 years they served on committees for the Springs Folk Festival. She says "It's another way God used to develop lasting relationships with people." At Oak Dale Church, Myra was chairperson for the sewing, and along with Omar chaired the food committee for many years. This devoted and remarkable women today reaps the rewards of many friendships and a life given unselfishly to a ministry of service and evangelism.
