Born Sept. 5, 1911, in Somerset Township. Son of the late Harry Franklin and Lucy Ellen (Darr) Maust. Also preceded in death by first wife, the former Bernice Schrock; one son, David Lynn Maust; brothers Guy and Park Maust; and sisters Neva Miller, Margaret Nair, Nina Schlosnagle and Edna Grace Maust. Survived by second wife, Marguerite Eleanor Driggs, to whom he was married for 46 years; these children, Joseph D. Maust, married to the former Karen Powers, Somerset, and Ms. Sally Ann Maust, Somerset; granddaughter Samantha Maust; sisters Mrs. Hazel Airsman, Somerset RD 3, and Mrs. Donald (Ethel) Johnson, Somerset RD 2. Retired sales manager of the former S&A Chevrolet-Cadillac dealership of Somerset, 1929 graduate of Somerset High School. Member of the First Christian Church, Somerset, where he had served as an elder, youth adviser and Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the choir. Member of the Somerset Community Chorus. In the 1940s he was a member of the Roof Garden Quartet and Men's Chorus. Also well-known as a Christmas tree grower in the Somerset area. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church, the Rev. William J. Sleasman officiating. No viewing at the church. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church 139 E. Main St., Somerset Pa. 15501.
