Maust, 89, of Salisbury RD 1, died Jan. 11, 1997, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale. Born June 10, 1907, at Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Lewis and Amelia (Orendorf) Maust. Mr. Maust was a carpenter and farmer. A member of Oak Dale Conservative Mennonite Church, he had served as janitor, trustee and on the food committee. He also served on the Mennonite Disaster Service and was a member of Springs Historical Society. He was a food chairman for the Springs Folk Festival and also served on the grounds committee. Mr. Maust is survived by his wife, Myra (Bender) Maust; a son, Clifford, and wife Joyce Salisbury; 5 daughters: Mildred Beitzel and husband Cleland, Bittinger, Md., Ida Maust and husband, Elmer; Fannie Bender and husband, Oren; Ruth Beitzel and husband, Olen, and Naomi Beitzel and husband, Denver, all of Accident, Md.; 2 sisters: Martha Yoder and Anna Bender, both of Grantsville, and 26 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Dale Mennonite Church, with Rev. Joe Byler officiating. Interment, church cemetery.
