Born June 16, 1947, in Springs, he is the son of the late John E. and Viola (Tressler) Maust. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Martin Maust. Surviving are a sister, Karen A. Maust, York; sister-in-law, Jean Maust, Springs; niece, Debra Eckard, Smithsburg, Md.; grandnephews, Patrick and Justin Eckard; aunts and uncles, Freda Maust, Clyde and Elaine Tressler, Elwood and Audrey Tressler, all of Springs; Mary Benentt, Salisbury; and Earleena Tressler, Grantsville, Md. Mr. Maust was a member of Springs Mennonite Church, Springs, and served as a usher for numerous years. He was a farmer and member of NRA, Woodmen of the World and the Sportsmen's Rod and Gun Club. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. A service will be conducted in the Springs Mennonite Church 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Casey Rohrer officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Eckard, Patrick Eckard, Shane Hutzel, Shawn Hutzel, Sonny Hutzel, Travis Hutzel, Randy Lapp and Eric Swauger. Cremation will follow and private burial service will be held in the Springs Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Springs Mennonite Church.
