Maust, 92, Meyersdale RD 1, died Aug. 23, 1989, at his home. Born Oct. 4, 1896, in Elk Lick Township, a son of the late Peter S. and Annie P. (Livengood) Maust. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Leora S. Gnagey; two sons: Harry G. and Dale E.; also two sisters and one brother. Survived by three daughters: Thelma Durst of Meyersdale RD 1; Pearl, wife of Paul Brugh of Rockwood; and Helen, wife of Jack Smith, Meyersdale; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A veteran of U.S. Army, World War I. Member of St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ. Retired area farmer. Also served for 60 years as forest fire warden in Somerset County. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ. Pastor Carl Mitchell and Pastor William Phennicie officiating. Interment, Summit Mills Church of the Brethren (Lichty) Cemetery. Daily American, August 24, 1989 [M0519]
