    Mrs. Effie Mae May, 80, of Confluence, died Nov. 19, 1974, in her
  home.  Born in Mount Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Norman
  and Amanda (Hoke) Lape.  She was preceded in death by her husband and
  a son.
    Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Hazel Spell, of
  Washington, Pa.; Frank May of Markleton; Mrs. Edna McGowan and Mrs.
  Mabel Hargrave, both of Philadelphia; and James May Jr. of
  Confluence; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a
  half-sister, Mrs. Edna Hawk, Masontown.
    She was a member of Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Church. Friends are
  being received in Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where funeral
  services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, with Rev. Arthur Gotjen
  officiating.  Interment in Kingwood IOOF Cemetery.
