Mrs. May had been suffering for some time with diabetes, but was out milking when her 79- year-old husband, who was shaving in the kitchen of their home, heard her call. He hastened out and helped her into the house, and was preparing to give her something for indigestion when she passed away. She was born in Garrett County, Maryland, on October 15, 1873, daughter of Edward and Mary Jane (Lenhart) Mimna, and was 71 years, 1 month and 25 days old at her death. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mary Blanche, wife of Martin Hare, Nanty-Glo, Pa.; Madge, wife of Harry Stahl, Jerome; two sons, Harry E. and Clarence L. May, both of Nanty-Glo, and a foster son, Paul Mimna of Cumberland, Md. She is also survived by four sisters and three brothers - Nancy, wife of Charles Gray, and Mary, wife of Herman Gartner, both of Salisbury; Mrs. Ella May, Rockwood, and Mrs. Bessie Porterfield, Cumberland and John Mimna, Meyersdale; William, of Ligonier, and James, of Shaw Mines. Funeral services for Mrs. May were conducted in the Methodist Church of Salisbury, of which she was a member, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13th, by her pastor, Rev. Sherwood Keiser of Meyersdale. Interment in the Union Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, December 14, 1944
