May, 76, 286 Somerset Ave., Jerome, was dead on arrival at Suburban General Hospital in Pittsburgh, April 20. Born Jan. 17, 1898, in Bedford County, a son of William and Mary Ellen Tipton May. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Mrs. Reba Gettings and Mrs. Roxie Horner, brothers, Jasper May and John May. And a grandson Reed May Jr. who was killed in Vietnam. Survived by his wife, the former Edythe Adams, and these children: Harry W. of Pittsburgh; Paul L. of Canton, Ohio; Ailleene, wife of George Davitch of Jerome; Reed M. of Johnstown; Charmaine, wife of Eugene Rodman of Akron, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Retired employe [sic] of the former Hillman Coal and Coke Co., Jerome; a member of the Jennerstown Local- 1742 U.M.W.A. and the Jerome Nazarine Church. Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Elwood R. Vandiver officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery.
