May, 76, of 9221 Pensive Way, Louisville, Ky., died Aug. 5, 1995, at Charitas, Louisville, Ky. Born April 10, 1919, in Coal Run, he was a son of the late John O. and Margaret (Walker) May. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Waltrip) May; 2 daughters: Linda A. Hetrick, Palm Springs, Ca., and Deborah L. Hayes, Knoxville, Tn.; 2 sons: David R. Waters, Atlanta, Ga., and James R. May, Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Dorothea Leslie, Greenbelt, Md., and 5 grandchildren. Member of the Methodist Church. Army veteran of World War II. Member of Salisbury American Legion Post 459. Retired from U.S. Army after 23 years service and Louisville Gas and Electric after 21 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Salisbury Cemetery. Interment will follow. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to American Heart Association.
