JAMES FRANCIS MAY

  James Francis May, 57, of Confluence, died Saturday, Jan. 8, in the Confluence 
Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
  He was born July 23, 1891, in Markleton, and leaves his wife, Mrs. Ellie Mae 
May, three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Stell, Point Marion; Mrs. Edna McGowan and Mrs. 
Mabel Hargrave, both of Philadelphia; three sons, Ernest, Frank and James Jr., 
all of Confluence; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Boyd and Mrs. Hannah Conn of 
Markleton, Mrs. Elsie Hahn of Connellsville, and Mrs. Lilly Wright of 
Greensburg, and two brothers, Silas May of Connellsville and Orlo May of 
Chicago, Ill.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the family home with the Rev. 
M.D. Fleming, pastor of the Confluence Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by 
the Rev. Mr. Whitaker of New York.  Burial was made in the Kingwood Odd Fellows 
Cemetery under direction of Mortician Samuel Black, Confluence.
