  James May Jr., 77, of Confluence, died May 13, 2002, in Uniontown
  Hospital.  He was born Aug. 7, 1924, in Confluence.  Son of the late
  James and Effie (Lape) May.  In addition to his parents, he was
  preceded in death by a son, David, brothers Frank and Ernest, and a
  sister, Hazel Stell.  He is survived by his wife, Helen (Collins)
  May, daughter-in-law Patricia (Reckner) May of Athens, Pa.,
  grandchildren Andria Lynn May of Philadelphia and James David May of
  Athens, and sisters Edna McGowan of Philadelphia and Mabel Hargrave
  of Cape May, N.J.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.  A
  life member of the Armed Guard, VFW Post 47 of Uniontown and the
  Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Church.  He was retired from Pressley Ridge
  School, Ohiopyle.  Friends will be received in the Humbert Funeral
  Home, Confluence, on Thursday from noon until 9 p.m. and on Friday
  until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. Paul Werner
  officiating.  Interment in Kingwood IOOF Cemetery.
