May, 74, died September 3, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born April 18, 1903, at Boynton, he was the son of the late Howard May and Sarah (Blake) May. He was a retired B&O Railroad engineer and also was assistant superintendent of PennDot for 10 years. He was an Army veteran. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Evelyn (Holler) May; five sons, Howard May, Buffalo Mills, RD1; Thomas May, Arlington, Va.; Harry May, Venice, Fla.; Carl May, Hyndman; Donald May, Buffalo Mills, RD 1; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Gage, Marion, Ohio, and a brother, William J. May, Bedford, RD 1; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted in the Zeigler Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles T. Bockhouse officiating. Interment in Madley Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Leydig, William Leydig, Robert Bruner, Stanley Robertson, Walter Burkett and James Heidorn. The Republic, September 8, 1977 [M0571]
