  JOHN V. MAY
  
    John Vernon May, 54, of Sipesville, died Jan. 12, 1978, at the
  Mercy Hospital in Johnstown.  He was born June 23, 1923, in Upper
  Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, a son of Hazel Phillippi of
  Rockwood RD 1 and the late William H. May.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Sara Younkin; two son:
  William and Richard, both of Sipesville; and two grandchildren.  He
  was a brother of: Mrs. James (Vera) Truscott, Boswell; Mrs. William
  (Sadie) Thompson, Earl and Orville, all of Michigan; and Mrs. John
  (Gladys) Smith of Somerset.
    He was a member of the Casebeer Lutheran Church.
    Funeral services were held Sunday in the Casebeer Lutheran Church
  with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.  Arrangements were in charge of the Richard E. Hauger
  Funeral Home.
