Born Aug. 26, 1923 in Somerset Township, daughter of Ralph Calvin and Nellie Elizabeth (Dunlap) Welsh. Preceded in death by parents, husband, John Paul Mayak Sr. who died Feb. 27, 2002; brothers, Charles and Ralph C. "Bud" Welsh. Survived by these children: Mrs. Michael (Kathleen) Donley of Bend, Ore., John P. Mayak Jr., married to the former Bridget Infantino of Somerset, Mrs. Allen (Lu Ann) Otto of Somerset, and Miss Amy Mayak of Somerset; grandchildren: Colleen, Michael Jr., Brian and Lauren Donley, Erin, Megan and Jared Mayak, Jennifer, Kayla and Alana Otto. Brothers and sisters: Mrs. Betty Buljat of Somerset, James Welsh of Somerset, Joan Cyga of Quecreek, Paul Welsh of Friedens, and Tedd Welsh of Bluffton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. A 1941 graduate of Somerset High School and a dietary aide for the former Somerset State Hospital, retiring in 1975 with 10 years service. She enjoyed camping and listening to music and spending time with her family. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Vigil for the deceased at 3:45 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli celebrant.
