"Mick" Mays, 79, of Markleton passed away Nov. 7, 2000 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born Dec. 25, 1920 in Rockwood. Son of the late Eva Mays. Preceded in death by mother and brother Edgar. Survived by wife Elizabeth (Sanner) Mays. His passing ends a marriage union of 53 years. Also survived by daughter Deborah Mays of New York, N.Y. and nephews Terry, Robert, and Craig Mays, all of Greensburg. Veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the Rockwood American Legion Post 279 and the Somerset VFW Post 556. He was a retired commercial artist and farmer. Friends will be received 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Pastor Duane Riddle officiating. Interment, Kingwood IOOF Cemetery.
