Mays, 63, of RD 1, Buffalo Mills, died May 16 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born near Buffalo Mills, he was a son of the late John R. Mays and Annie (Sturtz) Mays. His wife, Ethel (Smith) Mays, preceded him in death. Mr. Mays was a retired track foreman for the B&O Railroad and was a member of Gravel Pit United Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Ways. Surviving are a son, Ross R. Mays, RD 1, Somerset; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Ellis, RD 1, Buffalo Mills; two brothers, John R. Mays, RD 1, Buffalo Mills, and Earl Mays, Lancaster, and a sister, Mrs. Avalene Evans, RD 1, Hyndman. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Hinkle. Interment Madley Cemetery. The Republic, May 25, 1978 [M0611]
