He was born June 7, 1914 in Sand Patch, son of the late Lewis and Daisie Cook Mazer. He is survived by his widow, Marguerite Forman and one son, George W. Jr., Pasadena, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Housel of York and Mrs. Bonnie Wiles, Greenbelt, Md. and six grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Minerva Crissinger, Mrs. Rebecca Shockey and Miss Lucille, all of Meyersdale RD 3. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, Maple Leaf Rod and Gun Club and the Order of the Owls. He served 25 years as a 4-H leader and an honorary member of the camp staff. He retired after 40 years with Celanese of Cumberland. Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home. Services were held at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Gene Abel officiating. Interment, White Oak Cemetery. The Republic, May 13, 1982 [M0625]
