Mazer Jr., 60, of Rockwood, died April 16, 1981, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 3, 1920, in Larimar [sic] Township, he was a son of Lewis F. and Daisie (Cook) Mazer. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Wilhelm) Mazer; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sally (Hay) Mazer of Somerset; and two granddaughters, Jessica and Abbey Mazer; a brother, George W. of Meyersdale; and three sisters, Mrs. Minerva Crissinger, Miss Lucille Mazer, and Mrs. Rebecca Shockey, all of Meyersdale. Death terminates a marriage union of 36 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Marine Corps, and a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Rockwood, where he was an active member of the church council. He was the Adjutant of the Rockwood American Legion, a member of the Somerset V.F.W., treasurer of the Rockwood American Legion baseball team, troop committeeman for the Rockwood Boy Scouts and the executive committeeman for the Rockwood Sportsman Club. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, the remains were removed to St. Luke's Lutheran Church for services with the Rev. Clarence C. Moore officiating.
