Mazer, 81, of RD 1, Lonaconing, Md., died Friday, Jan. 6, 1989, at his residence. Born Jan. 14, 1907 in Somerset County, he was the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Suder) Mazer. He was a retired farmer and timberman with the Coddington Lumber Company of Shaft. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Star Route, Frostburg, Md. One brother and one step-brother preceded him in death. Survivors include his widow, Nellie (Mankmyer) Mazer; five sons, Wayne Mazer, Gerald Mazer, and James Mazer, all of Lonaconing, Md.; Bernard Mazer, Glenelg; and Carl Mazer, Frostburg, Md.; two daughters, Donna Boone, Springfield, Va.; and Dorla Buckel, Grantsville, Md.; three brothers, Merle Mazer, Strasburg, Va.; Kenneth Mazer, Salisbury; and Homer Mazer, State College; five sisters, Ruth Kinsinger, Grantsville, Md.; Edith Barmoy, LaVale, Md.; Alma Meyers, Dorothy Foreman, and Zona Boger, all of Meyersdale, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph Upole.
