Mazier, 59, of Ligonier, Indiana, formerly of Meyersdale, died Dec. 27, 1997, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mazier was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Meyersdale, the son of the late John and Margaret (Weimer) Mazier. In addition to his parents, Mazier was preceded in death by a son, John Craig, in Dec. 1963, and a brother, Roger, in March 1989. Mazier is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Newberry), who he married July 2, 1961, in Illinois. He is also survived by a son, Michael Mazier of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. David (Tracy) Pearsall of Ligonier, Ind.; a grandson, Joshua Pearsall of Ligonier; four sisters: Mrs. Edward (Anna Lou) Kerschensteiner of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. William (Jane) Shultz, Meyersdale; Mary Alice Jackson, Mesa, Arizona; and Mrs. Thomas (Marjorie) Schardt, York, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Mazier was a 1956 graduate of Meyersdale Joint High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Ligonier in 1967. He was employed by Silgan Co. in Ligonier, where he was a traffic specialist for the past 30 years. He attended Cromwell United Methodist Church. A funeral service was held Dec. 30 at Orr Funeral Homes, Ligonier, with the Rev. Tim Terrell of Cromwell United Methodist Church officiating. Interment, Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
