  McCARTER
  
  Emily McCarter, 89, of W. Patriot Street, Somerset, died April 5,
  1978, at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Dec. 12, 1888, in
  Somerset, the daughter of Harrison of Nancy (Lape) Berkey.  Preceded
  in death by parents, two brothers, George and Norman, and one sister,
  Mary.  Survived by sister, Mrs. Rhea Gates, Somerset; one nephew and
  one great-nephew.  Retired employee of Akron, Ohio Public Library. 
  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Friday in the Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m.
  Saturday, the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating.  Interment, Union
  Cemetery.
