  MRS. JOHN McCLAIN
  
    Gladys G. McClain, 70, of 1003 Race St., Connellsville, died
  Monday, Jan. 31.  She was born March 24, 1901, in Confluence, the
  daughter of the late Calvin and Jennie (Wingenroth) Groff.
    She was a retired elementary teacher in the Connellsville area
  schools and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Her husband,
  John McClain, and two brothers, Warren and Luther Groff, preceded her
  in death.
    Surviving are six brothers, Lawrence E., of Cambridge Springs, Pa.;
  Clifford E. and Paul E., both of Clairton; William and George of
  Confluence; and Dr. Charles D. Groff of Beaver Falls; and a sister,
  Mrs. Ruth Wells, of Miami, Fla.
    Funeral service will be held this (Thursday) morning at 11 o'clock
  in Brooks Funeral Home, Connellsville, with Rev. H. Wahl Pfeifer
  officiating.  Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
