McClintock, in Addison Township, on Monday, January 18th. He was aged 89 years, 8 months and 3 days. He was born in Addison Township on May 15, 1842, and resided in that district practically all of his life. When quite young he became affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, of which he remained a faithful member until death. In early life he took up the profession of school teaching and taught in Somerset County schools a number of terms. He served for eleven years as Assessor of Addison Township, and was for two terms one of the Somerset County Commissioners. Following this he served for 28 years as storekeeper and Gauger in the Internal Revenue Department of the United States Government, located most of this time at the Broadford Distillery in Fayette County. At the age of 77 he received an honorable discharge from the United States Government service. When still quite young, Mr. McClintock married Miss Caroline Swarner, who preceded him to the grave about ten years ago. To this union were born three children, Marian McClintock and Martha McClintock, both of whom died in infancy, and Rev. H. S. McClintock, a minister of the Christian Church for 32 years, who died in an automobile accident about three years ago. Surviving are six grandchildren, Nevin V. McClintock of Addison Township; Earle McClintock of Pittsburgh; Mrs. G. C. Lyon of New Orleans, La.; Mrs. Ben G. Finke of Nashville, Ill.; Lester McClintock of Addison Township and Mrs. Lewis Jamison of Akron, Ohio. Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held in the Silbaugh Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Wm. Minerd of the Rockwood Evangelical Church, officiated.
