McCollum, 81, Confluence, formerly of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, died Dec. 20, 1998, in Johnstown. Born Feb. 11, 1917, in Verona. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Walter. Survived by his wife, Mary (McConnell) McCollum; son, Robert of Pittsburgh; daughter, Barbara McDermott, Saxonburg; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-daughters, Kimberly King of Latrobe and Judith McClintock of Confluence; a half-brother, Harry McCollum; a half-sister, Aldora McCollum; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He lived in Allegheny Twp. until moving to Confluence in 1994. He was employed at Alcoa in New Kensington as a welder prior to his retirement. Member of the United Methodist Church, Confluence. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Dunmire-Kerr Funeral Home, A Golden Rule Member, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Rev.
