Some two months ago Miss McCormick was stricken with typhoid fever while visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Pringle, and had sufficiently recovered to be able to return to her home at Wheeling where she contracted a severe cold, pneumonia set in and death soon followed. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin McCormick, who several years ago resided at Sand Patch. She was a young lady of a kind and pleasing disposition and was a general favorite among the large circle of friends in which she moved, all of whom greatly mourn her taking away, and that, too, just in the rosy bloom of young womanhood. Her remains were brought here on No. 6 Saturday and were taken to the R.C. Church where Rev. Father McKenna performed the last sad rite. Interment in the R.C. Cemetery. Meyersdale Commercial, August 23, 1894
