McCubbin, 66, of Bloomsburg, died at 10:40 p.m. May 24, 1990, at the Meyersdale Community Hospital, where she had been taken after being stricken ill at the home of her mother. She was born in Meyersdale, a daughter of Lula (Speicher) Miller, who resides in Meyersdale, and the late Carl A. Miller. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1965 and formerly lived in Huntingdon, WV for 18 years. She was a 1941 graduate of Meyersdale High School and a 1944 graduate of Allegheny Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh. She served with the Womens Army Corps as a nurse in World War II and was last employed as a registered nurse in Bloomsburg Hospital, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Bloomsburg and the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. McCubbin on Oct. 11, 1978. She is survived in addition to her mother by two daughters: Mrs. Fred H. (Mary Beth) Carlin, of State College and Jane Sheridan, Williamstown, NJ; a son, Jeffrey A. McCubbin, of Corvallis, OR; six grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Lewis (Carolyn) Bell, of Trumbull, CT; a brother, Ted R. Miller, of Manns Choice. Services were held Tuesday, May 29, from St. Matthew's Church, Bloomsburg with Rev. Torben G. Aarsand officiating. Burial, New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Dean W. Kriner Inc.
