He was born March 15, 1923, in Humbert, a son of Willis and Adeline (Younkin) McCulley. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Deborah; brothers, Grant, Harry and Robert; and a sister, Ruth Griffith. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sara (Nickelson) McCulley and these children, Bunda Hainzer and husband, Robert, Somerset; James McCulley and wife, Barbara; Vernon McCulley and wife, Brenda, all of Confluence; Beth Ann Porterfield, Somerset; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Smith, Two Harbors, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A member of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene and a retired PennDOT highway foreman. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the hour of service Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. The Rev. Ronald Schaeffer and the Rev. John Buchko officiating.
