JOHN McDONALD

  John McDonald, 93, died Monday at the home of Mrs. Minerva Keefer in 
Meyersdale, where he had been making his home for the past 14 years.  Death was 
attributed to diseases incident to age.
  Mr. McDonald was born August 17, 1848.  His wife preceded him in death.  
Surviving are two daughters and a son.  For many years the deceased was employed 
by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.  He was a member of the Methodist Church.  
The remains were removed to the Keefer Funeral Home in Cumberland, Md., where 
services were conducted at 2 Wednesday afternoon.  Interment in a cemetery at 
Eckhart, Md.
  Up until a very short time before his death Mr. McDonald made daily trips from 
his home on the "hill" to the down town district.  Even those who did not know 
him personally will miss seeing pass by the aged gentleman who walked so 
sprightly.
