The Johnstown Tribune January 15, 1929:

Windber, Jan 15,----David McDowell, aged 73 years, formerly a resident of 
Dunbar, Fayette County, died of influenza at 4:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon 
at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs Lulu McDowell, of Windber.

The deceased is survived by one brother, Allen McDowell, of Coleman, and three 
sisters; Mrs. Thomas Donahue, of near Armagh; Mrs Rebecca Hartman, of Seward, 
and Mrs. Emma Pill, of Parson, W. Va.

Undertakers W.S. Clarke & Son, of Seward, have prepared the body for burial.  
Arrangements for the funeral services have not yet been completed.  Burial 
will be in the cemetery at Dunbar.
