  Ercell P. McDowell, 73, of 105 Charles St., Hooversville, died Dec.
  25, 1987, at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born July 6, 1914, in
  Reedsville, W.Va., daughter of the late James and Lillie (Zinn)
  Smith.  Also preceded in death by husband, Thomas A.; granddaughter,
  Nancy Gardner; and two brothers.  She is survived by these children:
  Mrs. James (Doris) Gardner, Fredericksburg, Va.; Mrs. Fred (Dora)
  Fullum, Melda McDowell and Sharon Prentice, all of Hollywood, Fla.;
  Thomas D., married to Jeanne Barbalish of Hooversville; Mrs. Dan
  (Karleen) Pritts of Cooper City, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.  Sister
  of Carl of Masontown, W.Va.  Member of Hooversville United Methodist
  Church and V.F.W. Auxiliary.  Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m.
  Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at Deaner Funeral Home,
  Hooversville.  Viewing at Hooversville United Methodist Church from
  noon until services at 1 p.m. on Monday with the Revs. Ed and Brenda
  Fritz officiating.  Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
