CATHERINE A. MCGETTIGAN

  Mrs. Catherine A. McGettigan, widow of the late James E. McGettigan, died at 
her home in Accident, Md., Sunday, Dec. 28, after an extended illness.  She was 
79 years of age.  The daughter of the late Henry and Minerva Cup Fiek, she was 
born June 25, 1868, in Accident, where she spent her life.  Her husband preceded 
her in death 10 years ago.
  Surviving are nine children: Mrs. Lavina Sebold, Mrs. Elizabeth Sebold, 
McHenry, Md.; Mrs. Clarissa Paul and Asa McGettigan, Akron, O.; Mrs. Gladys 
Bedenharn, Kent, O.; George McGettigan, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Harrison 
McGettigan, Uniontown; Mrs. Virginia Glover, Cresaptown, and Mrs. Pearl Resh, 
Accident.  Also surviving are one brother, George Fiek, Somerset, 24 
grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Paul's 
Lutheran Church, Accident, and of the Ladies Aid.
  Funeral services were held in the Lutheran Church on Wednesday afternoon, with 
Rev. Robert Johns, the pastor, officiating.  Interment in the church cemetery, 
Accident.  The pallbearers were Earl, Paul, Emerson and Randall Sebold, Eugene 
McGettigan and Janet Glover.
