Born Oct.18, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Dr. Morris and Marie Mistiaen Slocum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence McKay (1998); a daughter, Martha Mistiaen "Misty" McKay (1974); and a sister, Mary Louise "Mare" Roberts. Lizzie is survived by four sons, Lawrence McKay Jr. and wife, Susan, Tacoma, Wash.; Thomas J. McKay II and wife, Marjorie, Somerset; Michael S. McKay and wife, Pam; and Peter C. McKay and wife, Heidi, all of Ligonier; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Galen, Gardiner, Anna and Alexander, Jason and Michael II, Braedy, Dunnegan, Molleigh and Reilly; three great-grandchildren, Beau, Jonah and Carter. She was a member of St. Michael's of the Valley Episcopal Church, Rector and the Rolling Rock Club. She had been a volunteer at Latrobe Hospital and Meals on Wheels, Ligonier. She enjoyed cross-stitching, playing bridge and she loved her animals. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Church, Rector. The Rev. James Simons officiating. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Smith House.
