Phillippi, a neighbor, found the man, having been aroused when McKee's children became alarmed at his absence. Mrs. McKee had not been at home during the night and it is not known at what time McKee went to the cellar. He had been hanging for several hours was the verdict of the physician. McKee was well known in Confluence, having lived there for 15 years. He was a pop manufacturer. For the past two months his health had been failing him and it is thought that despondency over it was the cause of his action. He is survived by his widow and four children, three boys and one girl.
