Born Feb. 6, 1924, at Finzel, Md., he was a son of the late Clarence and Luella (Steinla) McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Hubert, Ervin, Carroll and Arthur McKenzie; and two sisters: Mary Layman and Gladys Ravenscroft. Mr. McKenzie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, and was employed as a sales clerk at the Garrett County Liquor Store, Grantsville, Md. He was also a member of FOP Lodge #40. He is survived by a son, Harold C. McKenzie of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Sandra K. Wisseman, Salisbury; a sister, Evelyn Winner of Frostburg, Md.; and six grandchildren: Deborah Yoder, Ronnie Richter, Sandy Marie Richter, Jessica Wisseman, Loren McKenzie and Taryn McKenzie. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Sunday. A prayer vigil was held Monday, Dec. 9, at the funeral home, with Msgr. Tim Swope officiating.
