McKenzie, 65, of Finzel, Md., died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1987, in the hospice unit at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born in Finzel Feb. 6, 1922, he was the son of the late Clarence and Luella (Steinla) McKenzie. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired employee of the Western Maryland Railway. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church; Lodge 1450, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees; LOO Moose Lodge 348, and Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Surviving are his widow, Betty (Knepp) McKenzie; one son, Anthony E. McKenzie, three daughters, Mrs. Bonny Griffith and Ms. Sherry S. Williams, both of Frostburg, Md.; and Mrs. Linda Jay, North Canton, Ohio; two brothers: Arthur C. McKenzie, Finzel, Md.; and Carlton McKenzie, Meadow Mountain, Grantsville, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Winner, Frostburg, Md.; and three grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church by Monsignor John L. Reinsfelder. Interment, Finzel Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Brown, Bee Sipple, Thomas McKenzie, Raymond Drees, Harold Christner and Lawrence Paul. The Republic, October 15, 1987 [M0867]
