McKenzie, age 48, son of the late George McKenzie and Ellen (McKenzie) Bittner of Greenville Township and former resident of Salisbury, died Monday, July 10, at his home at 785 Westbourne Ave., Zanesville, O., after a year's illness. He was employed by the Hook-Aston Milling Co. since 1925, and was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Jones) McKenzie; one daughter, Ethel, wife of Francis L. Basehart, who is now serving with the U.S. Army overseas; his mother, Mrs. Sherman Bittner of Meyersdale R.D.; two sisters, Margaret, wife of Harry Keim, and Leora, wife of Arthur Butler, of Salisbury; two brothers, Dallas, of Friedens R.D., and DeSales of Meyersdale; also by one granddaughter, Rose Ann Basehart, Zanesville, O. Funeral services were held at the Dean Funeral Home, Thursday, at 2 p.m., Rev. Edgar Bently, officiating. The body was laid to rest in Memorial Park, Zanesville. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Mr. McKenzie made many friends and was well liked by all who knew him. Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Dallas McKenzie and son, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Watkins and daughter, Friedens R.D. 2; Sherman Bittner, Meyersdale R.D.; Mrs. Arthur Butler, Salisbury; Mr. and Mrs. George Jones, Mrs. William Baer, Salisbury, R.D.; Mrs. Henry Shockey and daughter, Pearl, and Mr. and Mrs. "Schooch" Werner, Finzell, Md., and Carl Shockey and Mrs. Harold Huey, Akron, O.
