McKenzie, 45, of Berlin, died at 4 o'clock last Saturday morning in the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, Meyersdale, after an illness of two weeks. A son of Charles and Margaret Ellen (Garletts) McKenzie, he was born on Feb. 28, 1898, in Avilton, Md. He had been a resident of Berlin since 1913. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Savilla (Colflesh) McKenzie; two children, Capt. Hilton McKenzie of the U.S. Army, stationed at Cleveland, Ohio, and Betty, at home; a brother, Lee, Berlin R.D. and five sisters: Mrs. Harry Engleka, Fairmont, W.Va.; Mrs. Hubert Garletts, Barracksville, Maryland; Mrs. Thomas O'Brien, Akron, O.; Mrs. Samuel Jones, Somerset, and Mrs. Harry Deist, Berlin. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at his late home by Rev. R. S. Nagle, pastor of the Berlin Lutheran Church of which he was a member. Interment was in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral directors. Meyersdale Republican, November 11, 1943
